How To Talk About Likes & Dislikes?
You have to often tell others if you like or dislike a thing. It may be something to eat, a place or any task about which you have to speak your mind. Expressing likes and dislikes is a common routine in your life which may happen daily.
Following expressions may be used for such situations:
1. If You Like Something
a. Oh, I love it………..
b. I like it very much…………….
c. I really adore it…………….
d. I’m really fond of it………..
e. I’ve special liking for it………..
f. It is my favorite……………
2. If You Dislike Something
a. I don’t like……….
b. I dislike it………………..
c. I can’t stand the smell of…………..
d. I really hate……………..
e. I loath it……………
f. I detest it…………….
g. I’m not fond of…………
Sample Dialogue 1
A: Would you like to have some mango ice cream?
B: Yes, I’m really fond of this flavor.
Sample Dialogue 2
A: Do you like to stay with Ahmed?
B: Oh No! I can’t stand his company, he’s too talkative.
* I detest being late.
* I can’t stand the smell of spinach.
Note: Remember ‘fond of’ is normally used when we talk about some food or
people.
